VIRTUAL STUDIO \ GROUP LESSON DESCRIPTION

We start off with about 30 minutes during which I will give a presentation about a particular painting, artist, period in art history etc. Then we will spend an hour painting together a detail or a section from whatever we were discussing. I will paint the same image alongside you on video and, at the end of the session, we will have a quick look at what you have produced. I will give you some feedback and the following day send you the complete lesson as a link so that you can retry, improve, or finish off what you started during the lesson.

We are, in effect, trying to make a beautiful and rewarding ‘virtual’ travel journal. The groups are normally limited to 12 students (in different timezone groups) in order that you will have an opportunity for one-on-one personal assistance and critique. We trust that this will be a lot of fun and that the group atmosphere will inspire you to produce some terrific artwork.

GROUP LESSONS

All levels are very welcome. From beginner to professional, these virtual lessons are valuable to expand your abilities, skills, and range of possibilities. In a fun and relaxed atmosphere, you’ll be able to receive the time and attention you’ll need to accomplish your goal of either continuing on current work, or creating something new for the first time!

Each group online lesson will be conducted through Zoom (the virtual classroom). We will send complete instructions on how to easily connect to this after sign up. All you’ll need to do is click the link and we’ll be waiting!

INSTRUCTOR

Julian Hyzler is your instructor for this unique online program. As the founder of Artist in Italy, Paint Italy and Easel&Lens, he has been leading international art groups for over 15 years and teaching students of all ages and abilities for 30 years. Adept in various mediums and techniques, from painting (oil, acrylic, watercolour) and drawing, to photography and mixed media, Julian will lead each student in a personalised program designed for each skill-level and interest.
